Flavors and fragrances firm T. Hasegawa USA Inc. held a ribbon cutting event Thursday to mark the opening of its new, 60,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The location will be focused on the production of sweet flavors for foods and beverages.

“Our business has experienced rapid, organic growth in recent years, and this manufacturing plant will increase our current production while playing a key role in our growth strategy moving forward,” the company’s chief executive officer, Tom Damiano, said in a release. “We’ll be increasing our company headcount by more than 30% over the next five years, including highly skilled positions in manufacturing, R&D, and other specialty areas.”

Opening the plant increases T. Hasegawa USA’s manufacturing workspace by some 400%. The new site includes spray drying technology for powdered flavors, flavor extraction equipment, and liquid blending machines. Production of sweet flavors will shift from the company’s Cerritos, CA site to the Rancho Cucamonga facility when it opens.

“The increased production capabilities of this new facility will allow us to focus on our commitment to quality, service, and technology, which has made T. Hasegawa a recognized global leader in food and beverage flavors for over a century,” said Mark Webster, vice president of sales and business development for the company, in a statement.
