Symrise company Diana Pet Food held an event on July 6 to mark the opening of its new production facility in Chuzhou, China. The firm said the location is its first in Asia Pacific to house a spray dryer and a measurement center for pet food palatability.

“This site marks a turning point for Diana Pet Food in APAC: Our investment in China indicates the beginning in our journey to structure and strengthen our presence in the area to meet the growing demand of this highly dynamic market,” Bertrand de Launay, president of Diana Pet Food, in a company release.

The new spray dryer will allow Diana Pet Food to manufacture a variety of powder products and meet increased demand from the region’s pet food market. Once operational, the site will produce palatability enhancers that are sold under the SPF brand, as well as Vivae brand health and nutrition products.

An expert measurement center dubbed Panelis will provide insights on the feeding behavior and preferences of cats and dogs.

Diana Pet Food is a part of Symrise’s Flavor & Nutrition segment.
