Spec Engineering, a Gray company, announced Wednesday that it is expanding its process and equipment offerings within its Candy Worx brand by bringing process equipment line manufacturer, Bottom Line Process Technologies (BLT), into the Spec Engineering equipment line. BLT Process brings nearly 30 years of experience in sugar confectionery, chocolate, beverage, cannabis, and non-food (starch and paper) industries.

"Spec is thrilled to announce the addition of Bottom Line Technologies (BLT) to our Candy Worx line of confectionery equipment and solutions. We have been fans of BLT and its innovative culture and solutions in the food and confectionery industries for many years,” says Brian Bernard, president of Spec Engineering. “By adding BLT’s expertise in-house, we believe we can deliver more innovative and comprehensive solutions for our customers’ current and future needs.”

Together, Spec Engineering, through Candy Worx, and BLT can offer customers a more complete solution for confectionery processing needs such as BLT’s experience with gummies and bean-to-bar processing combined with the Candy Worx existing fondant, cooling wheel, and Revolv belt coating equipment.

John Vessa, president of BLT, will remain focused as an industry expert as he joins the Spec team as a Senior Application Engineer.

“I am very fortunate to be joining the Spec team,” says Vessa. “In addition to broadening the scope of equipment and services we offer; our customers can expect continued excellence in support and partnership.”
