Hanover, PA-based snack and potato chip manufacturer Utz Quality Foods LLC announced plans to acquire specialty food marketer and producer Inventure Foods in an Oct. 26 press release.

“We are tremendously excited about the opportunity to acquire Inventure Foods,” the chief executive officer of Utz, Dylan Lissette, said in a statement. “The company’s specialty snack food products and brands, as well as its geographical footprint, customer relationships and distribution strengths, are highly complementary businesses and we look forward to continuing Inventure’s heritage of innovation in both healthy and indulgent snacking.”

The completion of the transaction is expected in the fourth quarter of 2017, with the tender of more than 50% of fully diluted shares of Inventure Foods common stock pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Inventure Foods operates manufacturing plants in Indiana and Arizona and produces better-for-you and indulgent snacks under Company-owned and licenced brand names like TGI Fridays, Nathan’s Famous, and Tato Skins.
