North American pretzel brand Dot’s Pretzels LLC will open a new manufacturing plant in Edgerton, KS this year to expand its production capacity, a local economic development agency, ElevateEdgerton!, announced in a recent release.

“We are making significant investments in our technology at the new facility to keep the company on an aggressive growth trajectory,” the firm’s chief executive officer, Randy Johnson, said in a statement. “Not only will we be able to produce more pretzels but do so with greater consistency and ability to expand our product lines.”

The 186,107-sq-ft facility was acquired as a part of a deal with Copaken Brooks. Dot’s Pretzels plans to invest $15 million in the site and fill 22 new positions, including maintenance workers, machine operators, and quality assurance roles.

“Food manufacturing is an industry on the rise, and we are excited to diversify the offerings at LPKC with the addition of Dot’s Pretzels,” ElevateEdgerton! President James Oltman said in the release. “A big thank you to our partners at Copaken Brooks, CBRE, the Kansas Department of Commerce, Kansas City Area Development Council, KC SmartPort, Kansas Manufacturing Solutions, Evergy and the City of Edgerton for their hard work to make this project happen.”
