Private label consumer products manufacturer 8th Avenue Food & Provisions Inc. recently unveiled plans to shift operations from its fruit and nut manufacturing plant in Burnaby, BC to a new location in Hazelwood, MO. The Post Holdings-owned company said the new 250,000-sq-ft plant in the Midwest will prep and package snack nuts, trail mix, and dried fruit.

“We’re excited and proud to bring new employment opportunities for 300-plus team members to the St. Louis region where they can join a new plant and help build a great workplace culture,” Julie Burns, general manager, Healthy Snacks for 8th Avenue, said in a release. “Our competitive pay and benefits will help us attract great talent, and our focus on training and development will support people growing in their careers with us long term.”

Products made at the St. Louis area site will be sold to retail, foodservice, and ingredient customers.

More than 300 jobs will be available in quality, operations, production, warehouse, sanitation, maintenance, and other areas. The company is currently filling the roles and intends to start operations by January 2022.

8th Avenue relocated its headquarters from Minneapolis to Fenton, MO in 2020. It currently operates nine other production facilities in North America. In addition to snack products, the company owns the Ronzoni dry pasta brand
