Canadian agribusiness Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd. (P&H) announced Wednesday that construction is underway on a new grain and crop inputs facility to replace an existing site near Yorkton, SK.

The facility will include 25,000 tn of grain storage and a 150-car CN loop track capable of continuous grain loading and movement. P&H’s location currently has a 6,000 tn fertilizer shed and a 7,800-sq-ft AWSA heated chemical shed.

“We look forward to opening this new facility,” P&H Chief Executive Officer John Heimbecker said in a release. “This build confirms our commitment to investing in facilities and capabilities that support Canadian producers as they strive to grow and market the best crop and further solidifies our commitment to growers in the Yorkton area.”

P&H said the grain facility also expands its national grain asset network, which connects growers to global grain marketing opportunities.

The new site is expected to start operations in June 2022.
