Private label and contract pet food and treats manufacturer Red Collar Pet Foods is injecting $5.7 million into its Clinton, OK production facility to add an 85,000-sq-ft warehouse, the company announced in a release.

The company is initiating the project in response to high demand for its products. Red Collar recently expanded the site’s packaging capabilities.

“The Clinton plant continues to be one of our fastest growing plants in Red Collar Pet Foods’ coast-to-coast network,” Greg Wolking, the firm’s chief operating officer, said in a statement. “When completed, the warehouse expansion enables capacity for future growth and additional hiring.”

At the end of 2020, a fourth shift will be added to the facility, adding 20 new positions to its current headcount of 111.

“Oklahoma is an ideal distribution point for the nation because of our central location and proximity to 88 million customers within a 500-mile radius, and Red Collar’s location in Clinton off I-40 makes them uniquely capable to capitalize on a great logistical opportunity,” said Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt in the release.

Red Collar became the largest private label and contract manufacturer of dog and cat pet treats in North America with its 2019 acquisition of Joplin, MO-based Hampshire Pet Products. The company currently operates six manufacturing sites across Missouri, California, Ohio, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
