Pet food ingredients manufacturer AFB International plans to invest $79 million in a new plant in Columbus, GA to meet rising demand for high quality pet food ingredients, Georgia Gov. Brrian P. Kemp announced this week. The location will become the company’s third US production site.

“For AFB, this plant is key to fulfilling our commitment to be the most responsive and reliable supplier of pet food palatant solutions in the world,” said Jared Lozo, president of AFB International, in a release issued by the governor.

Over 100 new jobs will be created at the facility over a five-year period. AFB International selected a location in the Muscogee Technology Park for the new plant. Operations are slated to commence there in 2024.

AFB International creates, manufactures, and sells palatant ingredients to pet food manufacturers.
