British Columbia-based breakfast and snack products maker Northern Gold Foods Ltd. plans to build a new, 300,000-sq-ft granola bar production plant near Junction City, ND, The Eugene Register-Guard reported.

The owner of the 11-acre property on Meadow View Road, Grain Millers Inc., a supplier of oats and other ingredients, will construct the one-story facility and lease it to Northern Gold, the executive vice president of Grain Millers, Christian Kongsore, told the newspaper.

Northern Gold said the project will create about 75 new jobs when the facility becomes operational next fall. The plant will be dedicated to the production of granola bars. Kongsore would not disclose the cost of the project.

The Canadian company currently operates a 146,000-sq-ft manufacturing plant in Coquitlam, B.C., where its headquarters is also located.
