Specialty chemicals and food ingredients firm IMCD Group recently opened a new Food & Nutrition application laboratory in Europe to expand its technical capabilities, a company release said Monday.
“We are delighted to have this state-of-the-art facility join our existing network of application labs dedicated to the food & nutrition market,” Michel Faes, global technical director at IMCD, said in a statement. “Our local food technologists are now available to develop innovative application concepts and create health and delicious recipes that meet the latest consumer trends.”
Located in Hürth, Germany, the site will host seminars on trends and events to highlight insights and help customers carry out projects. The site will collaborate with IMCD’s existing Food & Nutrition Centre of Excellence in Mechelen, Belgium.
“Examples range from producing fat and sodium-reduced and fiber-enriched clean label solutions for bakery and savory applications, to sugar-reduced and high protein dairy products – all while maintaining the same premium and indulgent taste. The new lab will allow IMCD to share and discuss these opportunities with customers’ R&D teams, helping them to solve their consumer trend challenges,” said Faes.
Based in the Netherlands, IMCD offers a range of food and nutrition-related solutions including specialty oils and fats, flavors, colors, and dairy products.
