New Blue Buffalo Pet Food Plant to Open in Indiana

Pet food manufacturer Blue Buffalo plans to commence operations its new plant in Richmond, IN by mid 2018 and hire some 160 workers by the end of the year, the Richmond Palladium-Item reported Wednesday.
Construction of the 400,000-sq-ft plant is nearing completion and the company has hired 20 managers in advance of starting production, plant manager Travis Moore told the newspaper.
“We’ll be able to start producing product later this year… Dry pet food is what we’ll be producing by the middle of the year; dog and cat (food),” Moore said.
The Palladium-Item reported in early January that Blue Buffalo intends to purchase 35.9 acres of land from the city of Richmond. It is unclear how the company would use the property. New Blue Buffalo Pet Food Plant to Open in Indiana
