As its current chief executive officer and market head Paul Grimwood prepares to step down this coming April, Nestle USA announced Tuesday that chief finance and strategic transformation officer Steve Presley will assume the company’s top role.

“Steve has played a critical role in driving the strategic transformation of Nestle USA alongside Paul,” Executive Vice President and Head of Zone Americas Laurent Freixe said in a statement. “His powerful combination of deep commercial and financial expertise provides continuity and makes him ideally suited to lead Nestle USA in the changing consumer marketplace.”

Serving the company for over two decades, Presley has occupied a number of executive roles at Nestle USA. He was appointed president of Nestle Business Services in 2009 and became the firm’s chief financial officer in 2013.

“Steve’s experience will prove invaluable in continuing to peruse new internal and external models to increase the speed of innovation, capitalize on M&A to seed our innovation machine, and create new income streams and capabilities,” said Freixe.

Grimwood will stay on as non-executive chairman until May 2019, according to the release, consulting the company on strategy and stakeholder relations.
