Nestle Inaugurates New Milo Factory in Vietnam

A new factory was inaugurated by Nestle in Hung Yen, Vietnam to produce ready-to-drink Milo products, the food and beverage corporation announced via press release Thursday.

“The facotory will enable the company to create and develop new innovations and nutritional beverages for Vietnamese customers,” Nestle’s release said, adding that the site’s opening is evidence of the company’s commitment to developing nutrition, health, and wellness-oriented products.

200 new jobs were created as a result of the Hung Yen plant’s opening, and Nestle said it expects “many more” indirect jobs will be generated.

“I am proud of the new investments we are making in Vietnam. It demonstrates Nestle’s commitment to emerging markets in general, and to Vietnam in particular, especially in the context of a volatile economy. Nestle Vietnam has great performance in the last few years, which thanks to an ever-expanding consumer market, and a favorable business environment. We have a long-term vision and a firm belief in the potential of the country,” Wan Ling Martello, managing director of Nestle Vietnam, in a statement.”

Nestle has invested $520 million in Vietnam to date, the release said, operating six factories and employing over 2000 workers in the country.
