Foodservice products and food ingredients manufacturer and distributor Michael Foods Inc. closed its acquisition of Henningsen Foods, America’s largest processor of value-added egg products, from Kewpie Corporation on July 1, the Post Holdings subsidiary announced in a release.

The newly purchased company manufactures dehydrated eggs and meats that are used in sports nutrition products, sauces and dressings, noodles, pet foods, and food ingredients.

“The addition of Henningsen Foods’ capabilities and product portfolio will directly support the continued growth of our key food ingredient customers,” Mark Westphal, president of Michael Foods, said in a statement. “Their dehydrated poultry, beef, and pork products also add a nice complement that will provide additional solutions for current customers.”

Henningsen Foods has three manufacturing plants located in Nebraska and its headquarters is in Omaha. The company will be incorporated into Michael Foods by the end of this year.
