Mexican food company Galdisa USA is scheduled to officially open its new peanut processing plant in Conroe, TX at a ceremony this Friday, local news organizations reported. The Texas facility is the company’s first U.S. manufacturing location.

Once operational, Galdisa USA’s 46,500-sq-ft factory will mainly produce peanut ingredients for customers in the U.S. and Canada, according to the company’s website. The facility will employ an initial headcount of 25 workers.

“Galdisa USA is an excellent addition to Conroe Park North and we are thrilled to see their plant officially open,” the executive director of the Conroe Economic Development Council, Danielle Scheiner, said in a statement reprinted by The Courier of Montgomery County. “it has been a pleasure to get to know the Galdisa family and watch construction of their state-of-the-art facility.”

Owned by Mexico City-based Galdisa S.A. De C.V., Galdisa USA produces oil and dry roasted peanuts for use in the baking and snack industries; dried hibiscus flowers; raw pumpkin seeds and oil and dry roasted pumpkin seeds for industrial uses; peanut paste and butter for the baking and snack industries; oil roasted fava beans, oil roasted chickpeas, and more.

The Conroe site offers the company the capacity to expand the facility at a later date, the Galdisa said.
