Food and feed ingredients sourcing and premix blending firm D&D Ingredient Distributors Inc. said Tuesday that it is expanding its footprint with the addition of a new warehouse and a transloading facility.

Located at the company’s Delphos, OH manufacturing site, the 62,500-sq-ft warehouse will feature an automated inventory management system and up to 6,500 pallet positions. The new inventory system will be linked to an existing system that tracks over 750 products, which includes traceability, supplier, and quality assurance data.

D&D is also adding two new 1,000-tn bins to boost its bulk rail and truck transloading capacity. That initiative will increase the location’s handling and storage capabilities and allow for faster and more flexible bulk ingredient conversion services from rail-to-truck and bulk package-to-truck.

“Our expanded, state-of-the-art warehouse and transloading facilities offer animal feed and pet/food manufacturers extraordinary speed and flexibility in short and long-term storage, as well as bulk ingredient conversion,” said D&D President Arnie Miller in a company release.

The company’s Delphos site has three transloading locations that are connected to the Chicago, Ft. Wayne, and Eastern Railroad (CFE). Last year, D&D expanded the assets to accommodate 20 rail cars.
