Hormel Foods Corporation subsidiary Burke Corporation recently completed an expansion project at its Nevada, IA facility that added new space and capabilities to the site, a Hormel release announced Tuesday.

“This is an exciting time for us, and we are thrilled to be adding this state-of-the-art expansion to our 420 inspired team members and the new jobs to the community,” Chad Randick, president of Burke Corporation, said in a statement. “This new addition has industry-leading sustainability features and helps us to continue our efforts to operate a world-class food quality and safety facility.”

During the project, Hormel installed a new heat recovery system, high-pressure belt system, and ammonia compressors. The firm also implemented processes to reduce the site’s use of heat and water.

“Not only will our new addition help us deliver first-class sustainability processes and results, but also continue to meet our growing customer demands and requests. Additionally, for our incredible team members, we offer even more ergonomic features which allows them to focus on providing customers with the products they want while working safely and comfortably,” said Mike Dougherty, vice president of sales and marketing at Burke Corporation, in the release.

The company produces branded products for the foodservice industry.
