Hormel Foods Names Evans Food Group CEO to Board

American food manufacturer Hormel Foods Company named Evans Food Group Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Jose Luis Prado to its board of directors, the company announced in a release. The position became effective on Monday.
“Jose Luis is an accomplished leader in the packaged food and snacks industry” Jim Snee, Hormel’s chairman, chief executive officer, and president, said in a statement. “He has built a distinguished career with extensive domestic and international experience, and we are delighted to welcome him to our outstanding board of directors.”
Chicago-based Evans Food Group is one of the world’s largest producers of pork rinds, which are sold under its own brands as well as private labels, according to the company’s website. The firm also offers contract packaging services.
Before his tenure at Evans Food Group, Prado joined Pepsico in 1984 and occupied a variety of leadership positions including president and chief executive officer of Grupo Gamesa-Quaker from 2002 to 2010 and president of PepsiCo Snacks in Argentina from 1997 to 2000. He also served as president of the division Quaker Food – North America.
Prado is a member of several boards of directors including Northern Trust Bank Corporation and Brinker International. He received a master’s degree in systems and planning from Iberoamericana University in Mexico and an MBA from the Technical Institute of Monterrey, Mexico.
