Flour supplier Grain Craft plans to finish construction on a new grain elevator next to its existing flour mill in Blackfoot, ID by the end of this year, the company announced in a recent release. Ground preparation for the asset commenced in early May and concrete pads were slated to be poured in August.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work directly with the wheat growers of Idaho,” Alan Koenig, chief supply chain officer for Grain Craft, said in a statement. “Our Blackfoot mill is a leading provider of bulk and branded bag flours throughout the west coast and central regions of the United States. This new elevator will allow us to grow our origination of Idaho wheat for our other flour mills and it will help support our ongoing commitment to source quality wheat.”

Grain Craft anticipates that the elevator will begin to receive wheat by late 2021.

The Chattanooga, TN-based firm currently operates 13 milling facilities across the country.
