According to a report from IMI SalesLeads, the month of April had 74 new food and beverage planned projects with a 15% increase in processing facilities. The number of projects was up 10% from March numbers.

Largest Planned Project

During the month of April, the IMI research team identified 4 new food & beverage facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more.

The largest project is owned by Swire Coca-Cola USA, a subsidiary of Swire Pacific Ltd., who is planning to invest $500 million for the construction of a processing facility in Denver, CO.

The beverage distribution company is currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in 2025 and the company will consolidate regional operations upon completion in 2028.

TENNESSEE

Canadian oilseed processing company Richardson International is planning to invest $220 million for the expansion, renovations, and equipment upgrades on its Wesson Oil processing facility in Memphis. It is currently seeking approval for the project.

OHIO

A prepared meal processing company is considering investing $82 million for the construction of a 140,000-sq-ft processing facility and currently seeking a site in the state.

TEXAS

Premium Waters Inc. is planning to invest $80 million for the construction of a processing facility in Seguin on 27 acres. The beverage company is currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in late 2023, with completion slated for 2024.

ALBERTA

English Bay Blending & Fine Chocolates is planning to invest $30 million for the construction of a 120,000-sq-ft processing facility on 8.3 acres in Stony Plain. The chocolate producer has recently received approval for the project and will relocate operations upon completion in 2025.

IDAHO

Animal feed manufacturer Scouler is investing $20 million for the expansion of its feed blending facility in Jerome. The company has recently received approval for the project. Completion is slated for spring 2024.

NORTH CAROLINA

Severn Peanut peanut shelling company, a division of South Carolina-based Meherrin Agricultural and Chemical Co., is planning to invest $17 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on their processing facility in Elizabethtown. The company has recently received approval for the project.

CALIFORNIA

A dairy company is planning to invest $10 million for the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Turlock by 147,000 sq ft. Construction is expected to start in summer 2023.

NEVADA

A specialty food ingredient manufacturer is planning for the expansion of its processing facility in Sparks by 106,000 sq ft. The company has recently received approval for the project.

OHIO

Beverage distributor Bonbright Distributors is planning for a 51,000-sq-ft expansion of a warehouse facility in Dayton. The company is currently seeking approval for the project and will consolidate operations upon completion.

SOUTH DAKOTA

Mikota Holdings dairy cooperative is planning for the construction of a 48,000-sq-ft milk condensing facility on 60 acres in Beresford. The co-op is currently seeking approval for the project.
