Instant coffee products manufacturer CoffeeTech Industries will invest at least $56 million to construct a new 112,000-sq-ft headquarters and manufacturing plant in Seguin, TX, the Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) announced in a release Wednesday.

The new site will house processing, drying, and bulk packaging operations and have a capacity of 13 million lb for the business-to-business market. CoffeeTech plans to install an array of advanced processing equipment during the project.

“We need people that can operate electronics and a lot of sophisticated equipment,” the company’s chief executive officer, Chad McNair, told the Seguin Gazette. “Our intention is to eventually run this plant [24 hours a day] seven days a week and produce very high-grade instant coffee.”

About $15 million will be invested in new equipment and machinery during the first phase of the project, according to the newspaper. In the second phase, an additional $20 million will be spent on equipment and machinery.

CoffeeTech said it intends to create 91 new jobs with the opening of the facility.

Work on the site is expected to reach completion in 2022.
