Crews responded to the Campbell’s Snacks plant in Columbus, GA on Monday morning after a blaze started in a peanut roaster vent in the facility, ABC News affiliate WTVM reported this week.

Fire Chief Kevin Lott told the news broadcaster that the blaze started in residue inside the roaster vent and created a large volume of smoke. No injuries were logged during the response.

Campbell’s revealed plans to shutter the Columbus snacks plant this January. The company decided to close the site after conducting a strategic review of its manufacturing sites. Low demand for some products made at the facility, which the company took ownership of during its 2018 acquisition of Snyder’s-Lance, also contributed to the planned shutdown. 326 workers at the site will be impacted when the facility fully closes in 2022.
