A fire at the ADM soybean processing plant in De Moines, IA, broke out yesterday morning.

Captain Stacia Swanson of the Des Moines Fire Department said the call came in at 5:34 a.m. about a structure fire at the ADM plant. The fire was located on the fourth-floor roof of the bag house, reported local news WHO 13.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames in about an hour. The fire may have started in the hammer millers or elevators from soybean dust that ignited, said Swanson.

Fire crews remained on the scene for a short time after the flames were out to monitor hot spots.

No injuries were reported.
