There were 27 recalls by the US Food & Drug Administration in the month of July, which is less than June.

The food & beverage category had 17 recalls, animal and pet food had 2, and drug & medical devices had 8 recalled products.

Food & Beverage

Out of the 17 recalls in this category, 7 were for possible Listeria contamination, 1 for possible Salmonella, only 1 due to undeclared allergens, 2 for tainted products, 1 for under-processing, 4 for high levels of lead, and 1 for potential of plastic particles.

1 product was due to an undeclared allergen:

  • Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert 14 oz. contain peanuts

7 recalls were due to possible Listeria contamination:

  • Wiers Farm whole cucumbers and bagged salad

  • Stutz Packing Co. shelled walnuts

  • Freshire Farms vegetables and bagged salads

  • Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese St. Jerome cheese

  • Supreme Produce vegetable products

  • Snowfruit vegetables and pepper mixes

  • Freshire Farms jalapeños, green peppers, green beans

1 product was recalled due to the potential for under-processing:

  • Urban River Spirits nonalcoholic drink mixes

1 product was recalled due to possible inclusion of hard plastic:

  • Reser’s Fine Foods Hill Country Fare mustard potato salad

4 products were recalled due to possible high levels of lead:

  • Spice Class ground cinnamon

  • Shahzada cinnamon powder

  • Colonna Bros. Marcum & Supreme Tradition ground cinnamon

  • ALB Flavor ground cinnamon powder

A wide recall of cinnamon in March occurred for the same reason.

1 product was recalled for the potential of Salmonella contamination:

  • AB World Foods Al’Fez tahini

2 recalls occurred for tainted products:

  • Supercore Products Group dietary supplements for male enhancement – tainted with Sildenafil and Acetaminophen

  • Guru Inc. Infla-650 herbal dietary supplement capsules – tainted with acetaminophen, diclofenac and phenylbutazone

Pet Products

2 products were recalled in this category, both due to the potential of Listeria:

  • Viva raw dog and cat food

  • Sunseed Vita Prima hedgehog food – this is an expansion to June’s recall.

Drug & Medical Devices

There were 8 recalls in this category:

  • Baxter Life2000 Ventilator with an attached battery charger dongle – potential damage of battery charger dongle

  • Umary acido hialuronica, suplemento alimenticio 30 capletas de 850mg – tainted with diclofenac and omeprazole

  • Volara system single-patient use circuit and blue ventilator adapter assembly – reports of the handset plug disconnecting from the nebulizer port on the blue ventilator adapter

  • Par Pharmaceutical Clonazepam Orally Disintegrating Tablets, USP (C-IV) 0.25 mg tablets – mislabeled with incorrect strength on the carton

  • Hikma acetaminophen injection 1,000 mg per 100 mL (10 mg/mL) 100 mL –potential presence of Dexmedetomidine HCL Injection (400 mcg/100mL) inside the overwrap labeled acetaminophen injection 1000mg/100mL, (10mg/mL).
