FDA Recall Update: August 2024

Food & beverage, pet product, cosmetic, and drug/medical device recalls for the month

There were 26 recalls in August, which is down just slightly from July with 27 and June with 29.

Of the total recalls, 21 were in the food and beverage category, 1 in cosmetics, and 4 in the drug/medical devices category.

Of the 19 recalls in food and beverage, 10 of the recalls were due to undeclared allergens, 4 for elevated levels of lead, 1 for the potential of mold growth, 1 for possible Listeria contamination, 1 for possible Salmonella contamination, 2 due to inclusion of sildenafil, 1 for possible contamination of Clostridium botulinum, and 1 for high Vitamin D levels.
