Bakery products manufacturer and ingredients distributor Dawn Foods announced Wednesday that Ahmet Hepdogan will join the company as vice president of procurement, replacing John Wolf as he retires in March 2023.

Reporting to Dawn Foods North America President John Schmitz, Hepdogan’s duties will include strategic contract strategies and negotiations, identifying innovative global sourcing solutions, strategic material and service planning, and supporting commodity risks

“Ahmet has a successful history leading world-class procurement organizations across the food and beverage industry with a focus on building relationships and delivering strategic plans,” Schmitz said in a company release. “He is an effective leader and advocate for the digitization of procurement, which aligns with our continued transformation agenda focused on supporting our business and customers around the world.”

He most recently held the role of Chief Procurement Officer of sweet snacks manufacturer Ferrara. Hepdogan also formerly served in strategic procurement and leadership roles at US Foods and ARYZTA’s Aspire Bakeries.

Earlier this year, Dawn Foods hired former Utz Brands executive Melissa Bautista as its new vice president of manufacturing for North America. She will work to strengthen Dawn’s long-term production capabilities in the region and assist the company in meeting its business objectives.
