Food products manufacturer CTI Foods filed a document with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry this month announcing plans to permanently close its King of Prussia, PA facility by the end of this year. A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice said 89 positions will be impacted by the decision.

The company told the Philadelphia Business Journal that it is “deep in talks with potential partners” to keep the facility operational. CTI Foods said the WARN notice was issued to offer its workforce advanced notice in case a deal does not materialize.

CTI Foods acquired the former AFA Foods Inc. plant in King of Prussia in 2012. The facility processes ground beef for national restaurant chains. Its Pennsylvania location is one of five plants in the US.

Company officials said in the Journal’s coverage that the closure will not have impacts on the other facilities.
