Fresh and frozen baked goods manufacturer Crown Bakeries has struck a deal to purchase a 200,000-sq-ft production facility for laminated dough croissant products in Pleasant Prairie, WI from Gold Standard Baking, a company release announced Tuesday. The facility can produce 10 million baked croissants each week.

“With the acquisition, we immediately expand our geographic footprint in the Midwest and Pleasant Prairie’s high-speed croissant lines gives Crown much needed additional capacity in laminated dough,” said Crown Bakeries’ president Yianny Caparos in a statement. “Growing Crown’s production capabilities and bandwidth is critical to providing best-in-class service to our customers nationwide while building redundancy and flexibility in our broader manufacturing network.”

Terms of the transaction were not revealed.

“Pleasant Prairie becomes Crown’s ninth manufacturing facility, making Crown a formidable national baker,” Chris Tuffin, a partner at Crown’s owner, Arbor Investments, said in the release. “The facility is not only attractive in terms of geography but also offers additional floor space ready to accommodate further investment and expansion. This addition is truly a win for Crown and ultimately its customers.”

Founded in 1996, Crown Bakeries is a supplier of buns, bagels, biscuits, sweet goods, dough products, and croissants to the food manufacturing, food service, and food retail industries.
