D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Co. Inc. is recalling one lot of Market Pantry White Fudge Animal Cookies after metal wire was discovered inside some products.

Snacks manufacturer D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Co. Inc. issued a voluntary recall for one lot of Market Pantry brand White Fudge Animal Cookies after metal wire was discovered inside some of the products, according to a release posted to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website August 24.

The cookies are packaged inside a clear plastic jug shaped like a bear. Impacted products have a Best By date of Feb. 21, 2023 and a case lot number of Y052722. D.F. Stauffer distributed the lot to Target stores across the country. No other lots or products are affected by the recall.

Consumers who bought the recalled cookies are urged to stop consuming them and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

D.F. Stuaffer produces Whales brand baked cheese crackers, Stauffer’s cookies, Animal Crackers, and iced Animal Cookies.
