Firefighters were sent to a confectionery manufacturing plant in Perham, MN Tuesday after a fire broke out in the facility, local news organizations reported.

A blaze ignited in a piece of machinery inside the Kenny’s Candy & Confections plant around 11:30 a.m., coverage by radio station KFGO said. A company official told the broadcaster that a sprinkler system doused the flames.

An explosion also occurred, according to an account by ValleyNewsLive.com. A female employee received severe burn injuries during the incident.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire and explosion.

Kenny’s Candy & Confections, part of KLN Family Brands, manufactures Wiley Wallaby, Juicy Twists, Sour Bites, Sweet Chaos and other candy products.
