Parsippany, NJ-based firm B&G Foods Inc. is expanding its offerings of baking products with the acquisition of Clabber Girl Corporation from food and beverage supplier Hulman & Company, the company announced in a release Wednesday.

“This acquisition is consistent with our longstanding acquisition strategy of targeting well-established brands with defensible market positions and strong cash flow at reasonable purchase price multiples,” Kenneth G. Romanzi, president and chief executive officer of B&G Foods said, said in a statement. “Clabber Girl Corporation is the number one manufacturer of branded retail baking powder and also holds leadership positions in baking soda and corn starch.”

While the financial terms of the transaction were not included in the release, B&G Foods said it expects the Clabber Girl business to bring in up to $75 million in net sales each year. The company used cash and revolving loans under its credit facility to fund the acquisition.

B&G Foods’ baking-related offerings currently include the brands Baker’s Joy, Maple Grove Farms of Vermont, Emeril’s, and Brer Rabbit.
