Powder and capsule products manufacturer Armada Nutrition officially opened a new 438,000-sq-ft powder products and nutrient premixes manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City, UT this week.

“This facility enhances our ability to offer the speed, service, and innovation the industry demands.” Brent Laffey, president of Armada, said in a company release this week. “Supported by our parent company Nagase, this state-of-the-art facility offers unprecedented safety, quality, and sustainability practices.”

A Matcon enclosed in-blending system was installed at the site, improving production efficiency, reducing scrap, and bolstering food safety. The location also features innovative powder nutrient premix capabilities to support the firm’s growth in the “ready-to-drink” beverage category.

Customers can contract manufacture both powder products and nutrient mixes at the Salt Lake City plant.

“Now more than ever, our customers are interested in reliability, safety, and quality in their supply chain, and this new facility will allow us to continue to deliver on that expectation,” said Don Thorp, president of Armada’s sister company, Prinova, in a statement.
