Aldi & Other Brands of Various Soft Cheeses Being Recalled
The cheeses may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Savencia Cheese USA has recalled some of its soft ripened cheeses including Brie and Camembert under brand names Aldi, La Bonne Vie, and others.
The cheeses manufactured in its Lena, IL manufacturing facility are being recalled due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The affected products in the recall are:
Aldi Emporium Selection Brie, 12/8oz. with best buy date 12/24/2024, UPC 4099100084016
Supreme Oval 6/7oz. with a best buy date of 12/24/2024, UPC 071448504214
La Bonne Vie Brie, 6/8oz. with best buy date 12/24/2024
La Bonne Vie Camembert, 6/8oz. with best buy date 12/24/2024
Industrial Brie 12/8oz. with best buy date 12/24/2024, UPC 077901005229
Market Basket Brie 6/8oz. with best buy date 12/24/2024, UPC 049705666302
Glenview Farms Spreadable Brie, 2/3 lb with best buy date 1/13/2025
These products had limited regional distribution in the United States. The few retailers that received the product have been informed of this possible contamination and are in the process of removing products from shelves.
FDA states on the recall that through routine testing, it was identified that processing equipment at the site may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
There have been no reports of adverse health events due to consumption of these products to date.
Savencia Fromage & Dairy, parent company to Savencia Cheese USA, is a French company that produces several other brands of cheese, including Alouette, Saint Agur Blue, Saint Albray, Etorki, and Pié d'Angloys.
