Color pigments and dispersions supplier DCL Corp. announced Sunday its acquisition of a pigments manufacturing plant in Goose Creek, SC from pigments and inks maker Sun Chemical closed on July 31.

In addition to the facility, the deal also includes Sun’s perylene and quinacridone product portfolios and certain specialty products, according to a company release. Perylene and quinacridone are used in automotive, industrial coatings, and engineered plastics applications.

“We are excited about this acquisition, which is an excellent strategic fit for DCL. It expands our broad pigment portfolio with additional high-performance pigments, so DCL can bring more value to our customers,” the chief executive officer of DCL, Chuck Herak, said in a statement. “We are pleased to add the quality manufacturing facility at Goose Creek to our network, and we welcome these new employees to the DCL team.”
