As demand for liquid hand soaps and sanitizers continues to rise during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, consumer products manufacturer Colgate-Palmolive is preparing to start a $1.2 million expansion project at is Cambridge, OH production facility, the state’s economic development authority, Jobs Ohio, announced this week.

“The Colgate-Palmolive Cambridge Team is very excited for the investment in our site and our team. Our site has a long tradition of high performance and has had a strong community partnership since the plant was built in 1988. We look forward to this continued partnership,” plant manager Rick Davis said in a statement.

Operated by the firm’s Personal Care Products division, the Cambridge plant makes fabric conditions, liquid hand soap, cleaners, and dish detergents. As part of the project, 24 new jobs are expected to be added to the plant’s current headcount.

Colgate-Palmolive will use most of its $1.2 million investment for machinery and equipment.
