Flour Mill Explosion Injures Three

Three people were injured when a water tower exploded at the Minsa corn flour manufacturing plant in Muleshoe, TX Wednesday morning.

Two of the injured were airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock. All three of the injured are Minsa employees

Initial reports were that the explosion appeared to be caused by a pressure-related issue with the water tank but OSHA has taken over the investigation at the plant, which has been evacuated.

As recently as January, the plant had been cited for 33 violations and more than $150,000 in fines, after a federal inspection in July of 2014.
