Powder & Bulk Solids presents “Dust Explosion Properties: Use with Caution,” as part of its DryPro webinar series, Wednesday, December 6 at 2pm Eastern.

Dust explosions are a serious hazard in the process industries. Their effects can be mitigated by designing proper explosion protection systems as well as comprehensive administrative controls. However, for those controls to be effective they have to be tailored to mitigate the effects that are specific to the sample of dust in question. For dusts, unlike gases and vapors where the combustion properties of the material are tied to the nature of the chemical composition, the particle size distribution, particle shape, and moisture content all play a role. This presentation will cover some of these nuances and how they can affect any mitigation strategy that you develop.

Dr. Ashok Ghose Dastidar, vice president, dust & flammability testing and consulting services at Fauske & Associates LLC, will be the speaker. The 45-minute session will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A.
