Shaft Grounding Ring
The AEGIS SGR conductive MicroFiberShaft grounding ring is suitable for predictive and preventive maintenance programs on VFD-controlled ac motors and large dc motors. By protecting bearings from electrical damage, the SGR extends motor life, preventing bearing noise, downtime, and costly motor repairs or replacements. Preventing shaft current damage (in many cases for the life of the motor), the grounding ring simplifies predictive and preventive maintenance programs for motor repair shops, maintenance contractors, HVAC service contractors, and in-house maintenance departments. Unlike conventional shaft grounding brushes, the SGR’s conductive microfibers work with virtually no friction
or wear. They are unaffected by dirt, grease, or other contaminants.

Dosing System
The Multi-Dosimat discharges and doses any kind of powder. The system extracts the powder stored in the hopper by means of a rotating blade, which “lifts” the product from the outside to the inside of the hopper, for efficient and continuous extraction. Product is fully protected by means of a Dynaform membrane, making clean-in-place easy. Precise dosing takes place using a pneumatic “knife valve” with five position switches; the valve is controlled by the filling weight on the scale. A highly flexible IT 9000 controller handles the communication between the dosing valve, the scale, and the central control system.

Centrifugal-Impact Mill
The 24-in. Model CIM-24-SS sanitary stainless-steel centrifugal-impact mill provides coarse to fine grinding (325 mesh) of friable materials into controlled particle sizes. It also breaks lumps and conditions fibrous materials. High-speed rotation of the inner disk creates centrifugal force that accelerates bulk material entering the central inlet of the opposing stationary disk. As material travels from the center to the periphery of the disks at high speed, it passes through a “treacherous path” of five intermeshing rows of rotating and stationary pins, with the desired tight particle-size distribution obtained by controlling the rotor speed. Setting the infinitely variable rotor speed between several hundred and 5400 rpm provides the flexibility to use the machine for coarse grinding and deagglomerating as well as for fine grinding.

Custom Shaft Seals
Booth 1731 - MECO seals are used on slow-turning bulk processing equipment in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics, and minerals-processing industries. Engineers specify the optimal, patented seal design and construction materials for each seal according to precise shaft diameter, speed, clearance, process chemistry, temperature, pressure, etc. A wide range of shaft diameters can be retrofitted. Seals use different gas barrier fluids, at low flow rates. The seals solve problems caused by shaft run-out or misalignment by accommodating 6-mm diametric run-out or more in the design of the seals. They are available fully split so that installation and rebuilding are quick and easy. In sanitary applications, seals can be removed for daily cleaning.

Low-Profile Sifter
Booth 2020 - The low-profile Flo-Thru sifter features a gap-free screen frame with quick-disconnect clamps and a crevice-free interior finished to CGMP, 3-A, USDA, and FDA standards. The sifter allows rapid, thorough washdown. The low-profile configuration employs two unbalanced-weight gyratory motors mounted on opposing exterior sidewalls of the unit instead of one motor positioned beneath the screening chamber, reducing minimum height requirements. On-size particles pass rapidly through the screen in a vertical discharge path at higher rates than with circular screeners that have centrally mounted gyratory motors and horizontal discharge paths. Oversized material can be removed manually or with a vacuum. The unit can be disassembled without tools for rapid sanitizing and is intended to scalp oversized particles as small as 38 µm (400 mesh) from dry bulk materials or solids-laden slurries.

High-Temperature Bulk Cooling System
A high-temperature bulk-powder cooling system has horizontal water-cooled tubes that minimize thermal stresses and accommodate thermal expansion. The system cools bulk solids with temperatures up to 1000°C. High-temperature solids flow slowly by gravity over the cooling tubes while indirectly being cooled. The benefit of the tube design compared with the plate design is that the geometry of the tube is perfectly uniform, with even temperature distribution throughout the tube wall to avoid hot spots and local stresses. The system is used in industries that process high-temperature bulk solids such as pyrometallurgical processes for metal recovery, reactor discharges in the petrochemical industry, and boiler ash in fluid-bed combustion chambers. It is also employed in catalyst production processes.
