Rare-Earth Magnets
Booth 5316 – The new handle on the PowerLift rare-earth lift magnet features a positive lock-on and lock-off mechanism that requires the operator to manually switch between the two states. This prevents the handle from being turned only partially on and the operator from gaining a false sense of security that the magnet is holding safely. It also prevents the device from being accidentally bumped to the off position, dropping the load prematurely. The handle’s locking mechanism is engaged by first pulling out on the handle to release the lock pin, then rotating the handle to the on position. Turning the magnet off requires the same steps in the reverse direction. The magnets are compact, lightweight, and permanent, with on/off functionality, but they require no electricity, thereby reducing operating costs and eliminating the fear of dropping the load during a power failure. They can be used on flat or round nonflexing surfaces and contain an internal release device that does not contact or damage the surface of the part being lifted.

Direct-Drive System
This design eliminates taper pins both inside and outside the valve and connects the dome and the actuator directly through the shaft. Actuator couplings and several other parts are eliminated, and removal and reinsertion of the shafts are greatly simplified. This robust design allows additional torque to be applied to power the valve through hard or sticky material without concern for taper-pin shearing. The direct-drive feature, offered on the Roto-Clean sanitary valve since 2005, is now available on the Roto-Disc, Roto-Flate, and Roto-Vert valves as well. This means all valves share the quick-shaft removal and reinsertion feature of the Roto-Clean. The design works well with most actuator types because most actuators have female drive shafts. Roto-Disc will continue to support the existing design for its current installed base. Conversion packages are available as well.
