POWTECH
September 12, 2008
POWTECH, the International Trade Fair for Mechanical Processing Technologies and Instrumentation, will take place at the Nürnberg Exhibition Centre September 30–October 2. The exhibition is a leading technology forum for all powder, granule, bulk solid, and nanotechnology applications.
Some 750 exhibitors from more than 22 countries are expected to attend. Particle and process specialists from the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, ceramics, quarrying, earthworks, and plastics industries can obtain a compact and comprehensive survey of the current situation facing mechanical processing technologies. In conjunction with the parallel TechnoPharm, more than 16,000 trade visitors are expected to attend. For more information on POWTECH, visit www.powtech.de/en.
Dust Removal System
Booth 317 – The copany will display the new patented Compact Cyclonic DeDuster (CCD) dust removal system, combined with the new XP-series DeDuster. The core element of the system, the DeDuster, removes resin dust, streamers, metal dust, dirt, paper, and other contaminants. Fines are separated from the cleaning air in a high-efficiency cyclone and are collected in a dust drum under the cyclone. The full dust drum can be changed without interrupting the operation. The cleaning air is returned to the DeDuster after passing through an in-line filter. The system is ideal for cleaning regrind.

Mini Disk Fluidizer
Booth 224 – The patent-pending Mini Disk silo fluidizer provides all of the features of the company’s standard fluidizers and shares their exclusive Radial Ridge design, which prevents bridging, rat-holing, and compacting in silos, bins, and hoppers. The new 2-in.-diam Mini Disk fits in pipes, chutes, and small hoppers as well as in tight-curvature chambers with diameters as small as 4 in. The unit’s compact size provides material-handling engineers and designers with many pneumatic conveying options.

Valves
Booth 119 – The patent-pending Vortex Quantum-series orifice gate utilizes precision laser cutting and bending technology. The Quantum F-series features aluminum construction, a more weather-resistant design with improved sealing performance, higher durability, easier maintenance, and fewer parts. The patent-pending Quantum-series wye line diverter is specifically engineered to handle dry material in vacuum or dilute-phase pneumatic conveying systems with pressures up to 1 barg (15 psig). It provides a number of advantages over traditional flapper and rotating tunnel-style diverters. Trouble spots inherent in these conventional diverters are eliminated, providing superior sealing, low installation weight, fast in-line maintenance, and an abrasion-resistant design.

Particle Characterization System
Booth 304 – This company will demonstrate the latest applications for the Morphologi G3 high-sensitivity particle characterization system, which delivers information about both particle size and shape. The system is being used in the pharmaceutical industry and across a wide variety of industrial sectors. The addition of a statistical data analysis tool allows quicker and easier analysis of batch-to-batch variations in a powder feed or product. The company will also introduce a new feature for measuring particles on filter paper. This feature enables foreign-particle detection in pharmaceuticals and aids component cleanliness in the automotive and other industries.
