april_coverprod1.jpgContinuous Mixer
Booth 4034 – Designed for homogeneous intermixing of liquid or pasty components into dry carrier materials, the Lödige CoriMix CM 5 is a high-speed continuous mixer for large-throughput runs. When small quantities of liquid are added, the end-mix produced in the machine does not have agglomerations. If large quantities of liquid are added, a uniform granulated structure is obtained. Applications include materials processing in the agrochemical, paper, plastics, starch, detergent, fine food, sludge, ash and dust, gypsum fiberboard, animal feed, and particle board industries. The unit has several exchangeable wear-protection shells for the mixer interior and different types of mixing shafts for use with a variety of applications.

april_coverprod2.jpgBulk Bag Conditioner and Unloader System
Booth 1005 – This bulk bag conditioner and unloader system loosens bulk solid material that has solidified during storage and shipment, allowing the material to discharge through a bag spout. The conditioner’s integral configuration eliminates the time, labor, and equipment needed for separate loading of bulk bags into a stand-alone conditioner. The unit consumes less floor space than two separate pieces of equipment and requires fewer materials and less labor to construct than separate units, reducing the initial cost. Two hydraulic rams with contoured end plates press opposing sides of bulk bags, which can be raised and lowered for conditioning at varying heights using an electric bag-hoist assembly.

pbs0804p4a.jpgVertical-Scoop Belting Option
ThermoDrive sprocket-driven hygienic vertical-scoop belting is offered on the AquaPruf family of sanitary conveyors. It uses 55% less water during cleaning than other belts. Using less water reduces customers’ energy consumption and accelerates cleaning time. Aiding in sanitation is the belt’s design—a homogenous thermoplastic composition without pins, hinges, or link joints to catch and foster bacteria growth. Engineered for food and other applications that call for a high degree of sanitation, the belt reduces in-process bacteria proliferation. In-place cleaning and drying are accomplished in less time than with competing belts.

pbs0804p4b.jpgPortable Gas Detection
Three new products have been added to the X-series line of durable, easy-to-use portable gas-detection instrumentation. Now capable of protecting an entire crew from toxic, combustible gas hazards and dust, the X-series includes the X5-model five-gas detector, which simultaneously monitors up to five gases, including volatile organic compounds; the XD-model single-gas detector, which monitors a wide range of toxic gases at parts-per-million levels and percent oxygen concentrations; and the MicroDock II test and calibration docking system, which is compatible with the X5 and XD portable detectors.

pbs0804p4c.jpgGap-Free Classifier
Booth 1224 – The Vibroscreen gap-free classifier has nonmetallic contact surfaces and quick-cleaning features that are designed to prevent the contamination of ultrapure products. The 60-in.-diam classifier is configured with three screening decks for removing oversized particles and for dedusting the material. It also separates on-size material into two size fractions. The interior of the screen-frame surfaces is clad with PTFE. Because the screens are constructed of nylon, metal surfaces do not make contact with each other, as required for most bulk materials that are sensitive to metal contamination. The screener is also equipped with gap-free screen frames, quick-release U clamps, radiused corners, a domed lid, an air-lift device to raise the frames, and continuous ground and polished welds, allowing rapid, thorough cleaning between product runs and changeovers.

pbs0804p4d.jpgDust Collector Controller
The FDC controller provides user-friendly pulse-cleaning control for cartridge and baghouse dust collection systems. Using factory-programmed or customer-selected settings, the unit monitors pressure differential across the filters to ensure more-efficient pulse cleaning, reducing compressed air energy use and extending filter life. The controller is UL listed and is easy to operate thanks to clear, permanent instructions posted on the NEMA 4X water- and chemical-proof box. A pulse-cleaning switch on the front of the box allows the user to turn pulsing off, to pulse continuously based on predetermined settings, or to clean on demand when the high-pressure setting is reached and a dirty filter alarm sounds.

pbs0804p4e.jpgFire-Limiting Explosion Vent
Booth 2311 – A fire-limiting explosion vent, also known as the Flex-V, is a reclosable unit that returns to its original position at the end of the venting process. The unique design protects industrial process equipment from the damaging effects of dust and gas explosions, allowing fire-fighting agents such as carbon dioxide and water mist systems to effectively control fires.
