American Chemistry Council Elects New Board Members 12708

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) has elected Andrew N. Liveris, chairman and chief executive officer of The Dow Chemical Company, as its new Chairman of the Board. It also announced several newly elected Officers, Committee Chairmen and members of the Board.
"American Chemistry is the enabler of modern life in all capacities, from advanced medical technologies to clean drinking water," said ACC President and CEO Jack N. Gerard. "The Chairmanship of Andrew Liveris marks an era of vision at ACC. Our new leadership is in place and composed of individuals who are already the driving force behind this nation’s finest companies. Now, we are entrusting Andrew Liveris, our officers, our Committee Chairmen, and new and current board members with the mission of guiding our essential industry into this century."
"As incoming Chairman of the Board, I am honored to work with such a tremendous group of officers, chair people and board members and am confident we can make 2007 one of the most proactive and defining years in ACC’s history," Liveris said. "We can and will be the leading association in Washington, calling attention to our industry’s leadership and earning recognition for the many contributions we make to the world every day."
