Powder Show Dust Collection Guided Tour a Success
Tour Stop #7 Shawn Murray.jpg

One of the new elements of this year's International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference and Exhibition (Powder Show) was guided tours of the exhibition floor. Members of the Powder & Bulk Solids team joined the tour on the show's final day, as Gary Q. Johnson, chemical engineer and consultant, Workplace Exposure Solutions, took a group of about 30 conference attendees on a dust collection exlporation.

According to Johnson, the tour was meant to show conference attendees the variety of tools and methods available for dust collection, rather than just hearing about it in a class. "The big thing to me is they can come and put their hands on the equipment," Johnson said.

Below is a look at Johnson's tour and the dust collection equipment manufacturers at which it stopped along the way.

Gary Johnson (right) first stopped at the booth of Donaldson Torit, where Tom Miller (left), regional sales director with Donaldson Torit, spoke about the company’s filter products.

The next stop on the tour brought the group to Herding Filtration where Bertram Pischke, account manager, spoke.

The tour then stopped at Sioux Steel Co., where the DSH (Dust Suppression Hopper) was discussed by Scott Rysdon, chief executive officer (left).

The next stop was Auburn Systems's booth, where Earl Parker, vice president of sales operations, demonstrated some of the company’s dust monitoring equipment.

The tour continued to Martin Engineering’s booth where Marty Yepsen, product specialist, discussed the company’s dust control equipment.

Then it was off to Sisneros Brothers Manufacturing, where Fernando Sisneros discussed his company's ductwork products while his brother Salvador looks on.

Shawn Murray of Kirk & Blum Duct talked to the tour group about his company’s product.

At the tour’s final stop, Brian Bernard (left) of Spec Engineering talked about Spec products.
