Air Products Buys European CO2 Business ACP
March 1, 2019
Industrial gases firm Air Products & Chemicals Inc. announced Friday that its acquisition of ACP Europe SA – the largest independent CO2 business in continental Europe – has closed following the completion of regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.
The company said the purchase of the European firm enables Air Products to explore new growth opportunities for industrial gases and provide its customers with greater access to liquid CO2 throughout continental Europe.
“This is a good, logical deal. The ACP CO2 business complements our own and provides a solid platform to deliver customer value and pursue further European industrial gas growth,” Ivo Bols, president of industrial gases in Europe and Africa at Air Products, said in a company press release. “I have no doubt that our customers will benefit from a stronger portfolio as well as the collective and complementary expertise of our combined team.”
ACP serves a wide range of industries including beverages, chemicals, food, and horticulture. The company currently operates four liquid CO2 production plants and two dry ice plants in Europe.
