Dust Build-Up Causes Fire at ABB Plant in Missouri

An accumulation of dust and soot in an exhaust fan led to a small fire at the ABB plant in Jefferson City, MO in the early hours of Friday morning, officials told local news organizations.  

12 firefighters responded to the scene after the fire was reported at around 3 a.m. and knocked the flames down within 30 minutes, according to coverage by television news station KMIZ. 

The fire was contained to the exhaust system during the incident, CBS News affiliate KRCG said in a report. No injuries were reported.

ABB’s facility in Jefferson City produces transformers, according to information on the company’s website.
