Dantherm Filtration's North American President Steps Down after 30 Years

Niels Pedersen stepped down as Dantherm Filtration’s North American president on Friday, July 31. The company, which is headquartered in Thomasville, NC, manufactures dust collection systems under its own name and Quick-Fit clamp-together ducting under the Nordfab Ducting brand.

Pedersen, who founded Dantherm’s North American arm in Thomasville in 1979, will remain with the company as a business development manager. He will be succeeded as president by Nordfab division manager Tom Ballus.

“Like all manufacturing companies, Dantherm Filtration has been affected by the current economic conditions and we are making changes now that will allow us to become a stronger company in the future,” Pedersen says. “I thought this was a good time for a new team to take over and head that expansion.”

In his new position, Pedersen will focus on implementing at Dantherm the dust combustion standards expected to be released by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety & Health Administration later this year.
