Fire crews were dispatched to a blaze at the BNZ Materials facility in Zelienople, PA in the early hours of last Friday morning after a saw dust collection system caught on fire at the site, the Harmony Fire District announced in a Facebook post.

Called to the scene at about 1:43 a.m., firefighters arrived and saw that a saw dust storage bin was involved in the fire. The crews started to douse the fire from the facility’s rooftop and were able to quickly contain the flames, the fire district’s post said.

The plant’s structure only received “minimal damage” during the incident, according to Harmony Fire. Firefighters remained on scene for some time to monitor the situation and remove material from the storage bin.

Harmony Fire cleared the scene by 6 a.m.

BNZ Materials Inc. is a manufacturer of specialty industrial insulation materials, including firebrick, aggregates, and marinate, information on the company’s website said. The firm’s facility in Zelienople was originally opened by Johns-Manville.
