Carrier Process Equipment Group Acquires Hebeler LLC
Acquisition enhances the company’s position as a leading provider of thermal processing solutions to the critical food, specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, minerals, and energy storage markets.
Carrier Process Equipment Group Inc. (CPEG), a worldwide leader in bulk material processing and handling solutions, has completed the acquisition of Hebeler LLC, a Buffalo, NY-based manufacturer of thermal processing solutions and supplier of lubrication and seal oil systems to the power generation, mining, and oil and gas industries.
The acquisition enhances the company’s position as a leading provider of thermal processing solutions to the critical food, specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, minerals, and energy storage markets.
“The acquisition of Hebeler brings the highly regarded Buflovak and Patterson Kelley brands into the CPEG group of companies and adds evaporation, distillation, and solidification capabilities to our extensive list of thermal processing solutions,” said Doug Schieber, president and CEO of CPEG. “We also gain expanded access to the global mining and power generation industries with the addition of Hebeler and Howard Marten and their strong OEM relationships.

Hebeler LLC consists of four companies: Buflovak, Patterson Kelley, Howard Marten, and Hebeler, the oldest dating to 1880. Their products are used extensively in food, pharmaceutical, recycling, minerals, energy storage, and power generation industries. Engineering and manufacturing operations are in Tonawanda, NY, and Port Colburn, ON, Canada.
CPEG is a 100% employee-owned group of process machinery manufacturing businesses based in Louisville, KY. Its subsidiaries include Heyl Patterson Thermal Processing, Sly, S.
