Bühler Aeroglide Names New President and CEO

Bühler Aeroglide, a global leader in thermal process engineering and technology for food, feed, and industrial materials, has named Hans-Jöerg Ill president and CEO, succeeding Jonathan Abbis.

Hansjorg Ill comes to Bühler Aeroglide with more than 25 years of experience within Bühler Group. Ill served as a project and engineering manager in various functions within Buhler’s food processing division and also managed complex large-scale projects worldwide. In 2005, Ill moved to corporate sales and service management where he helped build the company’s presence in Asia and Africa before heading the Europe region. Most recently, Ill led the automation and logistics departments for Bühler Group working from Uzwil, Switzerland.

“Hansjorg brings a successful record of accomplishments that have expanded Bühler both domestically and internationally,” said Abbis, who will leave the company to head Bühler’s die casting division in Europe. “He understands the needs of our customers and has experience that will help us ensure the company’s continued success.”

Ill inherits a division of Bühler well positioned for growth. Abbis integrated Aeroglide into the Bühler Group by positioning it to leverage Bühler’s global sales and service platforms, realigning its product and marketing strategies to add value to the overall Bühler product offering, and helping the company achieve growth and profitability.

Hansjorg Ill brings enthusiasm to Bühler Aeroglide with specific goals for 2014. With an emphasis on total quality management, Ill will focus on the company’s core strengths in sales, service, and innovation to increase profitability, improve company performance, and offer new solutions for customers.

“I look forward to serving this successful business within Bühler Group,” said Ill. “I’m committed to maintaining the highest standards in every aspect of operations as we address the needs of customers and the industries we support. I will also strive to enhance the customer experience and total employee involvement in a systematic way that supports the company’s strong legacy of quality products and services.”
